How To Use The Calculator

How to use — Mehndi, Barat, Walima budget planner for Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad & all cities

STEP 1

Select Your City

Start by picking the city where your wedding will take place. Choose from Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, or select "Other" for any other city in Pakistan.

Why this matters: Wedding costs vary significantly across Pakistan. Karachi venues cost more than Faisalabad. Caterers in Lahore charge differently than those in Multan. The calculator automatically adjusts all prices based on your selected city — no guesswork, no using the wrong rates.

Karachi Lahore Islamabad Rawalpindi Faisalabad Multan Other
STEP 2

Choose Wedding Size & Guest Count

Decide how big your wedding will be. Select from:

  • Intimate — Under 100 guests
  • Standard — 100 to 300 guests
  • Grand — 300 to 500 guests
  • Luxury — 500+ guests

Then enter your exact guest count using the + and – buttons. Guest count is the biggest factor in your total wedding cost. More guests mean larger venues, more food, extra chairs, and higher catering bills. The calculator uses per-head pricing so your estimate stays accurate.

STEP 3

Select Your Wedding Events

Choose which events you are actually planning. Most Pakistani weddings include:

Barat (required) · ✅ Mehndi · ✅ Walima · ✅ Engagement · ✅ Mayun

Click on any selected event to expand and customize it. Each event has its own budget because Mehndi is usually smaller and casual, while Barat is the biggest expense. The calculator treats each event separately so you do not overpay or underestimate any function.

STEP 4

Customize Each Event's Services

For every event you selected, personalize these options:

📍 Venue Type: Home, Wedding Hall, Hotel, or Farmhouse.

🍽️ Catering Budget: Use the slider — from Rs 800 per person (Economy) to Rs 3,000 per person (Luxury).

✨ Decor Level: Simple, Standard, Premium, or Luxury.

📸 Photography: Basic, Standard, or Premium package.

Every choice updates your total instantly. This is where you balance wants vs. budget. Maybe you want Premium photography but can adjust catering to Standard. The calculator shows exactly how each decision impacts your final wedding cost.

STEP 5

Add Extra Services & Hidden Costs

Check additional services you need:

🎵 Live Music/DJ 🎥 Videography 💄 Bridal Makeup & Attire 👔 Groom Sherwani 🚗 Wedding Car Decor 🌴 Honeymoon

⚠️ Emergency Buffer (10%): Turn this on. It covers overtime charges, vendor tips, last-minute guests, and venue taxes — expenses most calculators ignore. These small costs add up fast. Include them now and avoid surprises when vendors send final bills.

STEP 6

Review Live Budget Breakdown

Look at the right panel — your complete wedding budget updates in real time.

  • ✅ Total estimated cost in bold numbers
  • ✅ Event-wise breakdown (Barat, Mehndi, Walima)
  • ✅ Category-wise progress bars — Venue: 40%, Catering: 35%
  • ✅ Auto-generated cost-saving tips personalized for your choices

If your venue costs are high, the tool suggests off-season dates or buffet-style catering. You see exactly where your money is going — and where you can save.

STEP 7

Export, Share, or Start Over

Features of Our Tool

Wedding Cost Calculator Pakistan — built for real desi weddings

1 City-Wise Real Pricing

A wedding in Karachi costs different than a wedding in Faisalabad. This tool adjusts every price based on the city you select. Choose from Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, or any other city in Pakistan.

Venue rates, per-head catering, and decor packages change instantly. No more using Karachi prices for a Sialkot wedding. You get accurate numbers specific to your city — not generic estimates copied from international websites.

2 Multi-Event Budget Breakdown

Pakistani weddings are not one event. They are Mehndi, Barat, Walima, Engagement, and Mayun. This tool treats each event separately with its own budget panel.

Customize venue, catering, decor, and photography for each function individually. See exactly what you are spending on Mehndi versus Walima. No lump sums. No mixing. You know where every single rupee is going across all your wedding events.

3 Hidden Cost Alerts

Most calculators forget venue taxes, staff tips, overtime charges, and emergency buffers. This tool includes them from the start. Toggle on the 10% emergency fund and it adds a realistic cushion to your total.

You also get automatic reminders for peak season surcharges (November to February) and weekend venue premiums. No last-minute surprises when vendors hand you the final bill. What you see is what you actually pay.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Real questions couples ask — answered honestly.

1. How often do you update vendor prices? What if a vendor raised their rates yesterday?

Honestly? We try our best. We update prices once a month through vendor partnerships, market checks, and receipts couples share with us. For Lahore and Karachi, we also track seasonal rushes and adjust automatically. If you have a fresher quote from your vendor, just manually adjust that item in the calculator. Or send us their rate and we'll update it. We are not here to replace your vendor's quote — just to give you a realistic starting point so you know what to expect.

2. My wedding has five events, not just Mehndi, Barat, and Walima. Can I add custom functions?

Absolutely. You are not limited to the default events. Add whatever you want — Dholki, Jaga, Maulood, Valima Dinner, anything. Name it yourself, set guest count separately, and pick venue, food, decor, and photo package just like the main events. It will show up as its own line item in your budget. Even the most complicated wedding flow is fully covered.

3. How do I handle payments spread over several months? I need to know when to pay what.

This stresses everyone out. After you finalize your budget, switch to the "Payment Planner" tab. We suggest a typical schedule — 30% at booking, 40% a month before, 30% after the event. But you can move those percentages around and pick actual dates. The tool then shows exactly how much cash you need each month. Match it with your salary, savings, or family contributions. No more guessing.

4. We are planning a destination wedding in Murree or Hunza. How does the tool estimate costs for non-city locations?

Ah, good question. Murree, Hunza, Naran — they are beautiful but expensive. Select "Other" under city, then choose "Hill Station / Tourist Destination." This triggers a different pricing model: venues charge way more (like 30-50% extra), transport and vendor travel add 15-20%, and photographers/caterers often quote higher. We use real data from couples who actually got married there. Still, you can override any number with your own vendor quote if you already have one.

5. I am an overseas Pakistani sending money from abroad. How do I account for currency conversion and bank charges?

If you are sending money from abroad, this one is for you. We have a currency converter built right in. Select USD, GBP, AED, SAR, or CAD and the tool shows your wedding budget in both PKR and your currency. Live exchange rates. We also add a small buffer — usually 2-3% — for wire transfer fees and rate fluctuations. If your bank charges something else, you can adjust that percentage yourself. So you know exactly how many dollars or pounds to send. No shortfalls.
